Obama golfs in Vegas with Derek Jeter

President Obama returns to Washington, D.C., on Sunday after a Las Vegas weekend that included an immigration speech and a round of golf with baseball great Derek Jeter.

The president got in some more golf before his departure Sunday, as he hit the driving range at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev., just outside Vegas.

Obama, Jeter, and two others played 27 holes Saturday at Shadow Creek in North Las Vegas, one of the world's most exclusive courses.

The foursome included Stephen Cloobeck, an Obama campaign supporter, and Brian Greenspun, owner of the Las Vegas Sun newspaper.

Jeter, a future member of baseball's Hall of Fame, just completed his final season with the New York Yankees.

Obama arrived in Las Vegas on Friday for a follow-up to his Thursday night speech on immigration policy, and spent the weekend in the area.

From the Associated Press:

"After Obama took about five hours to play the 18 holes at Shadow Creek in North Las Vegas on Saturday, the White House said that he had decided to play an additional nine holes. ...

"Casino mogul Steve Wynn built Shadow Creek in 1989; it is now owned by MGM Resorts International."
