Obama tops Yahoo searches in 2014
Despite a frustrating year — or maybe because of it — President Obama remains the most examined person in public life, according to one measure.
Yahoo reported Wednesday that Obama again topped its list for top-searched political figures.
Presidents are always at or near the top of such lists. That includes former presidents: George W. Bush finished third in the Yahoo survey for 2014, while Bill Clinton is eighth.
The poll reflected intense interest in the 2014 Senate elections. Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., who lost her re-election bid, finished second in the survey. The top 10 also included Democrat Michelle Nunn, who lost a Senate race in Georgia, and Republican Joni Ernst, who won a Senate seat in Iowa.
The list also included past and perhaps future presidential candidates: Hillary Rodham Clinton, Elizabeth Warren and Mitt Romney.
Presidential issues also dominated Yahoo's list of top-searched news stories of 2014, including Ebola, the elections, the Islamic State (also known as ISIS), and the Affordable Care Act.
