Obama cracks a 'birther' joke

It's never too late in the Obama administration for a good "birther" joke.

President Obama himself referenced conspiracy theories he was born in another country during his appearance Tuesday in Nashville, telling the crowd about efforts to persuade congressional Republicans to pass an immigration bill.

"Now, does that mean everybody is going to listen to me on the other side?" Obama said. "Not necessarily — they're pretty sure I'm an illegal immigrant!"

As the crowd chuckled, Obama quickly added: "That was a joke — but I mean, there are going to be some who just disagree with you."

Records say that Obama was indeed born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Aug. 4, 1961.
