Obama's day: Meetings
President Obama starts the new legislative year Monday with a series of planning meetings at the White House.
Obama returned Sunday from his annual turn-of-the-year holiday in Hawaii, and the new Republican Congress takes office in Washington this week.
The president's Monday schedule includes lunch with Vice President Biden, and a conference with senior advisers in the mid-afternoon.
Later in the week, Obama travels to Michigan, Arizona, and Tennessee to promote policies on manufacturing, housing, and education.
The president delivers his annual State of the Union address on Jan. 20.
