Obama's day: The new Defense secretary
President Obama has a low-key public schedule Tuesday as he ramps back up after the Presidents Day weekend.
Obama, who returned to a snowy Washington late Monday after a five-day business-and-golf trip to California, meets on Tuesday afternoon with recently confirmed Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.
The battle against the Islamic State is probably among the topics.
Obama also has a series of private briefings at the White House throughout the day.
