Obama visits 49th state — only one to go
For President Obama, it's 49 states down and only one to go.
When Air Force One touched down Thursday in Salt Lake City, Utah became the 49th state to receive a presidential visit from Obama.
Now only South Dakota remains.
Obama has been busy checking off states from his bucket list. Since the start of the year, he has also made his first official visits to Idaho and South Carolina.
Expect a visit to South Dakota soon. Mount Rushmore, perhaps?
In terms of overall travel, the Associated Press cites an interesting pattern:
"Obama has traveled to 10 Republican states since the GOP took control of both houses of Congress in January. Arizona, Tennessee, Idaho, Kansas, Indiana, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Utah all voted for Obama's Republican opponent in 2012. He has visited nine states that voted to give him a second term."
