Obama's day: Global entrepreneurs

President Obama's schedule Monday features a meeting designed to find ways to apply the spirit of entrepreneurship to global problems.

The afternoon event "will bring together entrepreneurs from across the United States and around the world to highlight the importance of investing in women and young entrepreneurs," says the White House schedule.

The goal, it said, is "to create innovative solutions to some of the world's toughest challenges, including poverty, climate change, extremism, as well as access to education and health care."

In his remarks, Obama plans to issue "a call to action to companies, organizations, and individuals across the globe to increase their support to emerging entrepreneurs, especially women and youth," the White House said.

The president also plans to address this topic when he attends the Global Entrepreneurship Summit this July in Nairobi, Kenya.
