Obama's day: A trip to California


President Obama spends much of Thursday flying to California for a trip devoted mostly to fundraising.

Before his mid-day departure, the president may also speak out on Wednesday night's mass shooting at an African-American church in Charleston, S.C.

Obama first flies to Los Angeles for Democratic National Committee fundraisers at private residences in the L.A. area.

The president spends Thursday night in Los Angeles.

On Friday, Obama flies to San Francisco, where he attends more Democratic fundraisers and addresses a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
