American-US Airways merger proposal in the works?

Might there be new updates today regarding US Airways' efforts to merge with American Airlines?

The Dallas Morning News suggests its possible, citing unnamed sources in a Nov. 2 report saying that the two sides are schedule to meet today.

The Morning News writes:

Several parties in a position to know say they expect US Airways to make an official offer in early November as it presses its case that such a deal would be good for both airlines. …

All the interested parties — the two airlines, the unsecured creditors committee, their advisers and major creditors — are scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss the pros and cons of a merger and other "strategic alternatives."

The Morning News says the meeting initially was to have occurred last week in New York, but was postponed because of the effects of Hurricane/"superstorm" Sandy.
