This post originally was published on April 14, 2014.

On June 4, 2014, London's Heathrow Airport willl open a new Terminal 2, officially "The Queen's Terminal." The facility will consist of a main building and a satellite terminal that will be known as Terminal 2B. The buildings will be connected by a passenger tunnel.

The new terminal is designed to serve 20 million passengers a year and be the home of 23 Star Alliance airlines as well as Aer Lingus and a few other carriers. The opening will be in phases, with United Airlines starting its flights to T2 on June 4 and others moving in during the following six months.

Paste BN's "At The Airport" columnist Harriet Baskas got a sneak peek of the terminal and of United's lounges on Thursday and will be sharing her observations — and photos — in her column next week. Here's a preview.
