First look at Qatar Airways' Airbus A350 XWB

Doha-based Qatar Airways is the launch customer for the Airbus A350 Xtra Wide Body aircraft and is scheduled to receive its first delivery before the end of the year.

In advance of the delivery, the airline released a few photos of the new plane, with shiny Qatar livery, taken at the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France.

Qatar is in the midst of a major fleet expansion and has 230 aircraft on order, including 80 of the new A350s.

"We take pride in introducing the latest products and services available to the industry and this new aircraft is a prime example of that," said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker, in a statement.
