The world's top airport? Survey says ...
What is the world's top airport? That would be Singapore's Changi Airport, which won the "World's Best Airport" award for 2015 as presented by aviation industry consultancy Skytrax. It was the third consecutive year that Changi took the top honor.
The Singapore airport also won Skytrax' award for "Best Airport for Leisure Amenities."
As for the title of "World's Best," Singapore Changi edged out No. 2 Incheon International near Seoul and No. 3 Munich. All six of the world's top 10 airports were in Asia (six) or Europe (four).
The top U.S. airport was Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International, which placed 30th on SkyTrax' list of the world's top 100 airports. Cincinnati also took home the SkyTrax award for "Best Regional Airport North America" for the fifth consecutive year.
Denver rated as the USA's No. 2 airport, placing 33rd globally. Rounding out the top five from the United States were San Francisco (No. 36 globally), Atlanta (No. 44) and Seattle-Tacoma (No. 54).
Canada's Vancouver International was the top airport in North America, rating 11th in the global World's Best Airport category.
Skytrax says its annual awards are determined during a nine-month survey of airline customers in what it describes as "the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey."
