A flight hit by lightning Tuesday afternoon landed at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport with no injuries, an airport spokesperson said.
A Delta Air Lines plane en route from Milwaukee to Atlanta was diverted to Chattanooga after the lightning strike.
Airport spokesperson Albert Waterhouse confirmed the aircraft landed safely with no injuries just after 4 p.m. local time.
The plane, an MD-90, was carrying 164 passengers when the aircraft was struck, Waterhouse said.
"The aircraft will be closely inspected to determine the next steps in getting the passengers to their final destination," Waterhouse said in an emailed release.
