18-hour-delay turns into a 'private party' as man gets plane to himself

Flight delays are usually the worst but they are perhaps not so bad when they end with you getting an entire plane to yourself.

That is exactly what happened with Phil Stringer, whose flight from Oklahoma City to Charlotte, North Carolina was delayed for more than 18 hours due to severe weather. Stringer detailed the experience on TikTok, where millions of people had engaged with the post by Thursday morning.

By the time the American Airlines flight was cleared for take-off, other passengers had opted for alternatives, leaving Stringer with the whole plane and its crew to himself.

While Stringer said he enjoyed having the flight to himself and getting to choose his seats - in first class - he felt bad for the crew who had to be called back from their hotel for the flight, just for him. Stringer said that he was unable to change his flight despite trying multiple times and spent 18 hours waiting in the airport because he needed to get back to work in Greensboro, North Carolina.

However, he ended up becoming friends with the crew and had a fun time with them on the flight.

Stringer's video shows the crew and the lone passenger getting goofy and enjoying their private party. The flight ended with Stringer exchanging phone numbers with the crew and he said he has been group messaging them since.
