Dead body found in wheel well of plane landing in Hawaii on Christmas Eve
A deceased person was found in the wheel well of a plane that landed in Hawaii on Christmas Eve.
The United Airlines flight from Chicago arrived at the Kahului Airport in Maui Tuesday, and the body was found in one of the main landing gears, the company told Paste BN in a statement Wednesday.
"The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well," the company said, adding that it is working with law enforcement on the investigation.
The Maui Police Department confirmed with Paste BN Wednesday it "is actively investigating the discovery of a deceased individual on an incoming flight from the mainland."
Police said no further details are available at this time.
