A purrfect reunion? Cat that went missing at Denver International Airport has been found
A cat was reunited with its owner after it went missing at Denver International Airport this week.
Southwest Airlines employees found the cat, Breezy, on Monday night. She was hiding in one of its “ramp areas after she escaped from her carrier the day before during the boarding process,” a spokesperson for the airline told Paste BN in an emailed statement.
The cat’s owner, Ginger Thompson, told Denver’s KDVR that she set the Bengal cat’s carrier down next to her seat. Breezy got loose when the latch broke and she fell between the plane and jet bridge onto the tarmac.
Thompson and Breezy were in town from Washington for a cat competition and were on their way home at the time, the news outlet reported. Thompson did not immediately respond to Paste BN’s request for an interview.
Denver International Airport confirmed the incident, but referred a request for comment to Southwest and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The USDA did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Paste BN.
Thompson shared a photo on Facebook of her flying home with the cat on Tuesday night. “Breezy is more (than) a show kitty, she and my other two are what keeps me going,” she said in an earlier post.
