Witches first: Spirit Airlines lets costumed travelers board early on Halloween

Now boarding: zone spooky.

Spirit Airlines is running a promotion Tuesday to encourage passengers to get into the Halloween mood. Travelers who come dressed up for their flight will get priority boarding without having to pay for it.

“Spirit Airlines is inviting guests to dress up as their favorite princess, video game character, mythical creature, or any other family-friendly idea they come up with. Their Halloween spirit will be rewarded with priority boarding,” the airline said in a statement.

They’re clearly a little worried about some taking too many liberties with the promotion though.

“Guests wearing a costume that fits the guidelines will be able to board following individuals with disabilities. Guests should listen closely to gate agent announcements and take care to wear appropriate costumes respectful of other guests and Spirit team members,” the statement continued. “While we encourage creativity, we also value safety and good judgment.”

Cruising Altitude: Don't be fooled by windowless window seats. Here's how to avoid them.

The full guidelines, which are available here on the airline’s website, include “think of the children” – nothing too revealing, offensive or violent, “share your space” – no costumes that extend past your seat, and no props that look like weapons.

So hop on and see where Spirit’s broomsticks will take you this year.
