Roaches spotted on Spirit Airlines flight spark viral TikTok and passenger outrage
A Spirit Airlines passenger who uses the social media handle symonebeez recently posted a viral video on TikTok showing cockroaches on their flight.
In the video, the passenger said they were flying in Spirit's Big Front Seats, and when they alerted the flight attendants, they were unable or unwilling to help. The clip also shows roaches crawling around on the bulkhead near her seat.
"There were multiple roaches on my plane," they said in the video.
In a subsequent post, the passenger said the airline offered her a voucher, but that they plan on avoiding Spirit on future flights.
Spirit Airlines acknowledged the incident in a statement to Paste BN.
"We maintain high standards of cleanliness across our fleet and want all of our guests to feel comfortable when traveling with us," the statement said. "We are aware of the video, and our maintenance team thoroughly inspected the aircraft involved and addressed the issue."
It's not unusual for bugs and other nuisances to enter an aircraft in or on a passenger's carry-on luggage.
