Deal watch: Save 30% on rare Canada-to-Greenland cruise

Looking for an adventure next summer? Expedition travel company Adventure Canada is offering savings of 30% on a "Greenland and Wild Labrador" itinerary that offers the chance to see polar bears, whales and towering icebergs.

Kicking off June 29 in St. John's, Newfoundland, the 12-night expedition cruise aboard the 198-passenger Ocean Endeavour begins with an exploration of Newfoundland's Notre Dame Bay and a stop at the Viking outpost of L’Anse aux Meadows.

From there, it's on to the rocky coastline of Canada's Labrador and a visit to the fjords of Torngat Mountains National Park. Daily Zodiac expeditions to hike in little-visited wild areas of Labrador also are in the plans.

The final portion of the trip will take passengers across the Davis Strait to Greenland for a stop at the world’s northernmost capital city and visits to the many fjords along the western coast. They journey ends in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland at the head of Sondre Stromfjord, nestled against one of the largest ice caps in the world.

Fares for the sailing start at $4,995 per person, based on quadruple occupancy, with savings of 30% savings available with bookings made before Dec. 18. More information is online at Adventure Canada's website.
