More offerings for foodies coming to Oceania Cruises

It's expansion time for Oceania Cruises' culinary enrichment program.

The line on Tuesday announced it would add new classes at the culinary center on its 1,250-passenger Riviera for the coming Caribbean season as well as new Culinary Discovery Tours on land.

Oceania has been a pioneer in offering hands-on instruction in cooking on ships in custom-built culinary centers equipped with individual cooking stations.

The new classes range from an exploration of classic Cuban recipes to a primer on patio dining.

New culinary tours will include a visit to a tropical arboretum in Honduras to learn about pesticide-free, hydroponic farming followed by an interactive Honduran cooking demonstration and lunch at a nearby restaurant reached by boat.

In Cozumel, another culinary tour will offer a chance to explore an open-air market filled with local produce and fish followed by a visit to a cacao operation and a class in Yucatecan cuisine.
