SEABOURN ENCORE
Line: Seabourn
Maiden voyage: Dec. 4
Home ports: Various
Size (in tons): 40,350
Passengers: 600
The buzz: Billed as one of the most luxurious cruise vessels of the modern era, Seabourn Encore will be similar to the three Odyssey Class ships that Seabourn has rolled out since 2009 -- only bigger.
At 40,350 tons, Encore will be about 26% larger than its siblings, thanks to an entirely new deck and expanded public areas. It will hold about 33% more passengers, based on double occupancy.
Encore will offer elegant, contemporary spaces designed by noted hospitality designer Adam Tihany, including an airy main dining room and a version of the club-like social hub called Seabourn Square found on other Seabourn ships (see the first drawings of some of the interior spaces in the carousel above).
Itineraries: Encore's first year at sea will feature a diverse range of seven- to 60-night sailings in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia starting at $5,499 per person.
