Deal watch: New Norwegian promotion touts free drinks, other perks

Norwegian Cruise Line is out with another promotion that brings free perks with new bookings.

The Miami-based cruise operator says customers who book a voyage of five nights or longer by April 10 can choose from one of four value-added options that include a free Specialty Dining Package, free Ultimate Beverage Package or 250-minute WiFi package.

The fourth option is a $50-per-port shore excursion credit in up to four ports.

Customers who book a room in one of the exclusive Haven complexes on Norwegian ships or a suite will get all four perks.

The promotion is available with any sailing booked more than 30 days in advance of departure, with the exception of trips on the line's Pride of America and Norwegian Sky. A separate offer with different perks is available for sailings on Pride of America.

Norwegian's Specialty Dining Package includes dinners at specialty restaurants that normally come with an extra charge. The Ultimate Beverage Package includes wine, beer and cocktails. A caveat: While the packages are free under the promotion, passengers still must pay an 18% gratuity on their retail value.
