Disney unveils new cruises to Southern Caribbean

Fans of Disney Cruise Line can look forward to more long sailings to the Southern Caribbean.

Disney on Tuesday announced plans for an 11-night voyage out of Port Canaveral, Fla. in 2017 that will feature stops in Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, Tortola and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

The sailing will take place on the 2,500-passenger Disney Fantasy and kick off on June 17, 2017.

Disney also announced plans for a new 10-night sailing to the Southern Caribbean that will feature calls at Aruba, Curacao, St. Kitts, Tortola and Castaway Cay. The voyage is planned for June 28, 2017 and also will take place on the Disney Fantasy.

Disney also revealed that one of its ships would visit Amsterdam in 2017 -- a first for the line.

The 1,754-passenger Disney Magic will stop in the Dutch city during a 15-night, trans-Atlantic voyage from Port Canaveral to Copenhagen that will take place in May 2017.

A visit to Amsterdam also will be part of a 10-night northern Europe itinerary that will begin in Copenhagen on June 18, 2017. The trip will include stops in Warnemunde, Germany (for day trips to Berlin); Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; and Tallinn, Estonia. It ends in Dover, England.
