A fire broke out on an American Queen Voyages cruise ship Wednesday morning in Portland, Maine, injuring one crew member.

Portland Fire Department crews arrived at 14 Ocean Gateway Pier shortly before 7:30 a.m. local time and received reports of an explosion in the Ocean Navigator vessel’s engine room, possibly related to a generator, according to a news release. The ship was carrying 128 passengers and 82 crew members.

“PFD crews worked quickly to treat and transport one crew member with serious injuries to a local hospital,” the department said. “Additional crews were simultaneously able to stabilize the engine room issue and remained on scene to assist with extensive ventilation efforts and complete overhaul to prevent any further issues.”
