Visiting Italy soon? You can see the top attractions for free
The cost of an upcoming vacation to Italy just got more manageable.
The country will celebrate Museum Week from March 5 through 10, during which all Italy's museums, monuments and cultural sites will offer free admission, cultural minister Alberto Bonisoli announced.
Though most of Italy's museum tickets are fairly affordable, Museum Week offers the opportunity to see all the greatest sights without breaking the bank.
Among the famous attractions you can visit:
- Galleria Borghese in Rome (usually about $23)
- Colosseum in Rome (usually about $15)
- Uffizi Gallery in Florence (usually about $22)
- Boboli Gardens in Florence (usually about $15)
- Accademia Gallery in Florence (usually about $24)
If your family can't make it next month, no worries: children under 18 are usually admitted free. Plus, Italy's "free museum Sundays" initiative is the first Sunday of every month.
