The droids you’re looking for: Disney announces new Star Wars experiences

You're going to want to be the engineer on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run next year.
Starting May 22, 2026, the engineer will get to choose their party's destination and communicate with Grogu during the ride at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
There will also be a new destination to choose from on the attraction: Coruscant, which Star Wars' official website calls “the vibrant heart and capital of the galaxy during the age of the Empire.”
The new features will debut on the same day that “The Mandalorian & Grogu” opens in theaters next year.
Details were announced Sunday at the Star Wars Celebration fan gathering in Japan, just over a month after Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro first teased them at SXSW.
At the time he also revealed the free-moving BDX Droids that first debuted at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will head to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort.
The playful droids have been a hit, also appearing at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and earning Walt Disney Imagineering a Themed Entertainment Association Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Technical Innovation.
D'Amaro also revealed several Fantastic Four-inspired experiences will head to Disneyland Resort later this year. The film "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" hits theatres this July.
Timing and details are under wraps, but they will include a chance to meet the Fantastic Four. There’s also something in the works with their beloved robotic assistant H.E.R.B.I.E.
