'One Piece’ will join ‘Star Trek,’ Dungeons & Dragons at new Universal Studios event
One of the most beloved anime and manga series of all time is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood – and it’s not the only one.
“One Piece” and wildly popular “Jujutsu Kaisen” will both join the lineup for Universal Fan Fest Nights, a new after-hours event debuting spring 2025, Universal announced at L.A. Comic Con.
Anime collaborations are very popular at Universal Studios Japan, but this marks a first for Universal’s U.S. parks.
This event will welcome fandoms from across anime, cosplay, fantasy, gaming, and sci-fi. Here’s what fans should know.
What are Universal Fan Fest Nights?
Like Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Fan Fest Nights will be a limited-time, separately ticketed, after-hours event that is not included with standard theme park admission to the Southern California park.
Universal says it will feature “a dynamic line-up of captivating, immersive in-world experiences along with engaging, celebratory activations throughout the theme park, from live entertainment to cosplay, inviting guests to embrace their favorite characters and share their enthusiasm with like-minded fans.”
It’s being created by the same team as Horror Nights, but unlike the Halloween event, which is not recommended for kids under age 13, Universal Fan Fest Nights will be all-ages friendly.
What franchises will be featured?
In addition to newly announced “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen,” Universal Fan Fest Nights will feature experiences tied to “Star Trek,” the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Dungeons & Dragons, and “Back to the Future,” which is marking its 40th anniversary in 2025.
All of the experiences will be available each night of the event.
Universal has revealed that the U.S.S. Enterprise-D from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the bridge set piece from the third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard” will also be part of Fan Fest Nights. Attendees will also be able to meet a Niffler, among other magical experiences in the park’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
What else can is there to do at the event?
Super Nintendo World will remain open during the event, as well as select attractions, including:
- Flight of the Hippogriff
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Jurassic World – The Ride
- Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride
- The Simpsons Ride
- Transformers: The Ride-3D
Event-themed food and merchandise will also be available to purchase.
When will Universal Fan Fest Nights be held?
Universal Fan Fast Nights will be held:
- April 25-27
- May 2-4, 9-11, 16-18
How much are Universal Fan Fest Nights tickets?
Universal Fan Fest Nights tickets are now on sale, with general admission starting at $74 and going up to $249 for the Ultimate Fandom Pass.
