Epic Universe tickets go on sale: What to know about Universal Orlando's new theme park

The countdown is officially on.
Universal Orlando Resort’s highly anticipated new theme park, Universal Epic Universe, will open next spring, just ahead of the busy Memorial Day weekend.
“With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week’s worth of thrills that will be nothing short of epic!” Karen Irwin, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a statement. “Our Universe will never be the same.”
The first phase of park tickets went on sale Oct. 22. Here’s what you need to know.
What is Universal Epic Universe?
Universal Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando's fourth park. It will feature 50 unique, immersive experiences across five worlds: Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
Those experiences include first-of-its-kind rides and shows, character-meeting opportunities, themed dining, and more.
When in 2025 will Epic Universe open?
Universal Epic Universe will open on May 22.
In the meantime, guests can get a sneak peek at the Epic Universe Preview Center in Universal Orlando’s CityWalk shopping, dining and entertainment complex, which is open to the public and doesn’t require park tickets.
There’s a sprawling model of the park and an accompanying augmented reality app that lets you interact with the model and learn more about the park through your smartphone. There are also a few photo opportunities and Epic Universe souvenirs available.
How will Epic Universe tickets be sold?
The first phase of tickets went on sale on Oct. 22 as multiday tickets and vacation packages. Most guests will need to wait longer for single-day tickets.
Currently, the general public can choose from three, four, or five-day tickets with only one of those days at Epic Universe and the rest at Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal Volcano Bay water park tickets can also be added.
Three-day tickets range from $352 to $521, depending on the dates. That works out to between $118 to $174 per park, per day. Like many theme parks, Universal Orlando has dynamic pricing. Additional pricing details are available on Universal’s website.
Guests who bundle multiday tickets with stays at one of Universal Orlando’s 11 hotels – including the three new ones near Epic – can save up to $200 as part of their vacation package.
Beyond the parks: How to visit Universal Orlando without park tickets
On Oct. 24, Universal Orlando annual pass holders got to be the first to buy specially priced single-day Epic Universe tickets starting at $122, depending on the date. Each pass holder is only able to purchase one add-on ticket per date, with a limit of six tickets per purchase transaction to accommodate pass holders with other pass holders linked to their accounts, according to Universal.
The resort has not yet revealed when single-day Epic Universe tickets will go on sale to the general public nor how much those will cost. Details on those, as well as other multiday tickets, Florida resident tickets, military promotions, and Universal Express passes will be released in the coming months.
The Florida resort is phasing in ticket sales to accommodate the high demand for the new park.
Universal Epic Universe map
Epic Universe's five worlds will all be connected by Celestial Park.
Guests will enter a portal to each themed world.
Where is Epic Universe located?
Epic Universe will be located off Sand Lake Road, which Universal describes as a 10- to 15-minute trip away from its existing Orlando theme parks.
How to get to Universal Epic Universe
Universal Orlando will provide free resort transportation between its parks. It will also be available between Epic Universe and Universal hotels.
Size of Universal Epic Universe
Sitting within a larger 750-acre site, Epic Universe will be the biggest of Universal Orlando’s theme parks.
“Epic Universe represents a tremendous addition, almost doubling the size of Universal Orlando Resort,” Universal Destinations and Experiences President and CEO Mark Woodbury said in a video introducing the park. “This gives us the opportunity to bring people to Universal Orlando for an entire week of the most incredible experiences they can imagine.”
Epic Universe hotels
There will be three Universal hotels near the park, all part of Loews, like the other hotels on the property.
Universal Stella Nova Resort will open on Jan. 21. Its sister property, Universal Terra Luna Resort, will open on March 25. They’ll both be Prime Value Hotels, like Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal Aventura Hotel. Reservations are currently available for those.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel, part of Universal’s Signature Collection, will be adjacent to Epic Universe and have its own exclusive park entrance for hotel guests. Reservations for Helios Grand are now open for stays beginning May 22.
