The wait is almost over, Test Track and Little Mermaid fans.
On Tuesday, Walt Disney World revealed when the newly reimagined EPCOT attraction and Disney’s Hollywood Studios show will open next year.
Five all-new experiences will also debut in 2025, including a new nighttime parade first revealed at this summer’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and a new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern announced last year.
Here’s what’s coming to the Florida resort in 2025:
Spring
◾ Late next spring, a new Spaceship Earth lounge will open at EPCOT with elevated drinks, bites and ambiance honoring both its namesake attraction and the larger park. According to the official Disney Parks Blog, it will offer “sweeping views of World Celebration Gardens and a unique perspective of the nightly fireworks.”
Summer
◾ The new live show “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will debut next summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It will feature the Magic Mirror from “Snow White,” Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent. “You may even get a glimpse of a few more of your favorites through the magical mirrors as dozens of the most infamous evildoers try to join in the delightfully diabolical fun,” according to the Disney Parks Blog. A whole new Villains land is planned for Magic Kingdom in the coming years.
◾ “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” also arrives next summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Replacing the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which closed during the pandemic, the new production will include “all-new sets, a vibrant cast of puppets, live performers, and stunning visuals,” with nods to the animation style of the original film, according to the blog. Guests can sing along to familiar songs like “Under the Sea and Part of Your World” as well as “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl,” which were not part of the former stage show.
◾ The new nighttime parade “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” will debut next summer at Magic Kingdom. Continuing in the tradition of the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade, the parade will feature glowing floats and costumes inspired by “Peter Pan," "Frozen," "Moana” and more, infused with magical starlight from the Blue Fairy from “Pinocchio.”
◾ Late next summer, a reimagined Test Track presented by General Motors will reopen at EPCOT with a new look and new storyline. Guests may begin to see cars testing on the track early next year. Test Track closed for refurbishment this June.
Expected in "late 2025”
◾ The new, all-ages Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern will open at Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland in late 2025. The blog notes, “there may be more than a few mysterious and magical surprises in store.”
Winter
◾ “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will premiere next winter at Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life Theater. The new 4D show will feature Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and other familiar faces from “Zootopia.” It will replace the current attraction, It’s Tough to Be a Bug!
Disney also confirmed 2025 will be the last year to experience Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but did not share a specific closing window.
