Norwegian Air flight turned around back to Stockholm after bomb threat

A Norwegian Air flight had to divert Thursday after a bomb threat was made against the plane.

Norwegian Air spokesman Anders Lindstrom confirmed the news to Paste BN in a statement: "Norwegian can confirm that a bomb threat has been made against flight DY4321 from Stockholm Arlanda to Nice. For safety reasons, the aircraft, with 163 passengers and six crew members on board, returned to Arlanda airport."

"All customers are being rebooked," he added.

Flight DY4321 left Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden at 10:01 a.m. CET and was back by 11:12 a.m. CET, according to flight tracking website FlightAware

"As this is now a police matter, further questions need to be addressed to local police. Norwegian’s top priority is always the safety of our passengers and employees," Lindstrom also said.

A notice on the airport website said there were "no restrictions at the airport due to the security incident. Air traffic, road traffic, train traffic and all other operations are in service."

A police spokeswoman told British news outlet The Independent that officers reported to the Swedish airport after the bomb threat but didn't give any further information.

Paste BN has reached out to the airport for comment.
