Two escape injury after car backs into Florida hotel pool, becomes submerged
WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — A car crashed into a hotel pool Friday afternoon in West Palm Beach as a driver was backing his vehicle, West Palm Beach police said.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express on Metrocentre Boulevard near 45th Street, according to The Palm Beach Post, which is part of the Paste BN Network.
Police say that a black Hyundai reversed into a pool gate and went into the hotel’s outdoor pool, where it became fully submerged. A man and woman were able to get out of the car and the pool before police and paramedics arrived.
No injuries were reported.
Police later tweeted a video of the car being removed from the hotel pool, with the front wheels hoisted out by what appeared to be tethers attached to a crane.
