No one was hurt Thursday after 17 cars caught fire at a parking garage at Newark Liberty International Airport, officials said.

The airport on Twitter reported that level 1 of the Terminal C parking garage was shut down due to an active fire at about 7 a.m. Visitors were forced to use levels 2 and 3 to pick up passengers.

No injuries were reported, said Lenis Rodrigues, a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokeswoman. The Terminal C garage closed, with the terminal's arrivals level roadway open.

Several people posted videos of the smoke and flames emitting from the airport parking garage. The Newark Fire Department responded to the fire, Rodrigues said.
