Major flight delays in Northeast due to weather in recent days meant that passengers across the country spent more time than expected waiting in airports. Fortunately for some travelers, a Southwest Airlines employee helped make things fun.

Kristen Dundas, who was flying Thursday from Orlando to Washington, D.C., shared a video of a Southwest gate agent at the Orlando International Airport who had a unique way to keep delayed passengers entertained.

"This gate agent is playing 'win a prize for the worst drivers license picture' because our flight's been delayed 2 and a half hours," Dundas captioned the video of a Southwest agent announcing the winner of the game.

"This video is another example of how we encouraging our employees to have fun with our customers," Southwest representative Dan Landson told Paste BN in a statement. "The customer service agent in the video is known for putting a smile on our customers’ faces by playing games in the gate area while making travel fun and enjoyable for everyone. "

The official Southwest Airlines account responded to Dundas, stating the airline was glad the agent "was able to make the delay a little more bearable."

The airline is known for holding games and contests on board flights and at the gate, especially during delays.

Heavy rain in the Northeast caused a flurry of flight delays and cancellations during a busy travel weekend ahead of Labor Day and back-to-school season. Over 6,000 flights within, into or out of the United States were delayed and over 700 cancelled on Friday, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware.

"I was getting HEATED until this gate agent started playing games with everyone waiting to pass the time and now I'm like, 'I'll wait all damn night if you keep this up #amazing,'" Dundas added.
