Delta Air Lines travelers report technological issues with website, mobile app


Delta Air Lines had technological issues Monday, when travelers encountered problems on its website and mobile app.

The airline issued a travel advisory on its app and website: "We are addressing a technology issue that is impacting the ability for customers to log in to their SkyMiles (frequent flyer) account on Delta.com and the Fly Delta app. There is no impact to flights or operations.''

It recommended that travelers log in as a guest until the problem was fixed.

Delta and other airlines invested heavily in mobile apps.  Travelers like the convenience of having everything at their fingertips, from ticket purchases to flight check-in.

DownDetector, which tracks tech problems, showed a spike in reports of issues at Delta beginning around lunch time EST.

Passengers on the site and on Twitter reported not being able to log into the mobile app to check in for their flight or perform other functions.
