St. Patrick's Day inspiring you to visit the Emerald Isle? Ireland made it easier this month.
If St. Patrick's Day has you thinking about a trip to the Emerald Isle, you're in luck.
The Republic of Ireland doesn't have any major travel restrictions related to COVID-19.
Vaccination is not required to enter the country, nor are negative COVID test results or proof of recovery, as of March 6. Quarantines and testing upon arrival aren't required either. And U.S. citizens may visit without visas.
The CDC has advised Americans to "avoid travel to Ireland" due to "very high" levels of COVID-19. Countries with more than 500 new cases of COVID per 100,000 people in the population over the past 28 days are considered to have very high levels.
While COVID cases have fallen in the U.S., they've been rising across Europe. Ireland has reported more than 110,000 total new cases over the past 28 days, according to John Hopkins University and Medicine.
Travelers who develop COVID symptoms in Ireland are advised to test for the virus and self-isolate.
