4 apps to successfully organize and manage your travel itinerary
Managing complex itineraries, or multiple trips in a compressed timeframe, is a challenge for even the most die-hard organizer. Thankfully, the mobile era has led to some fabulous apps that pull together all the disparate elements into a common thread. Here are a few that make our trips more seamless and less stressful:
TripCase is an app developed by one of the major players in travel distribution software, Sabre, which means that it integrates with many Travel Management Companies. Despite the pedigree, the app will work with any travel provider. TripCase is also agnostic to the type of trip and is an ideal solution to track trips for both business and pleasure. This makes it especially handy for those business trips that are extended for personal travel. All trip elements can be emailed to TripCase and then organized from within the app. TripCase(iOS/Android)
TripIt was one of the original trip management apps, eventually being folded into the larger travel and expense management company Concur. The app is full-featured and will pull in any sort of booking messages that come through your email — from OpenTable to Fandango to airlines, any message that has an event attached to it will be pulled into the system. From there you can organize into trips so that each trip has every booking and event in one place. TripIt Pro cost $49 annually and includes flight trackers and a handy search tool for alternative travel options during an exception. (iOS/Android)
WorldMate is one of the most prolific trip management tools for business travelers. WorldMate has an advantage over TripIt insofar as you can selectively forward only those relevant booking emails. The output is also designed beautifully and includes calendar integration, flight alerts and maps. WorldMate also offers a companion booking service for unmanaged travelers to act as their own travel agents. WorldMate Gold offers expanded service with a mobile calendar integration and tracking of colleagues' travel schedules. This is especially valuable with WorldMate's LinkedIn integration (iOS/Google/Windows)
