This luxury hotel doubles as a museum

Talk about a commitment to the arts — at the newly opened Denver hotel the ART there's little telling where the gallery space ends and the hotel starts, because it's all one in the same.

The 165-room luxury hotel, which is appropriately located in Denver's Golden Triangle Museum District, has its own curator on staff (Dianne Vanderlip, former curator of the Denver Art Museum) who has elevated hotel art far beyond pretty paintings hanging on the walls. The hotel's world-class collection includes notable works from influential artists like Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Claus Oldenberg, Tracey Emin, and Sol DeWitt.

Though the hotel does have two dedicated gallery spaces, contemporary artwork runs throughout, from the light that hits the street outside the hotel, emitted from the 22,000 LED bulbs comprising the large-scale light installation artist Leo Villareal designed specifically for the hotel, to each floor featuring a particular artist whose works are displayed throughout the hallways and rooms, and whose aesthetic translates to the rooms' style.

No need here to leave the hotel to get your dose of cultural sightseeing. Click through the slideshow for more images of the hotel and its featured works.
