This week's travel giveaways: Air New Zealand's 75th anniversary means 75 free flights, Cathay offers a free RTW ticket, and more
Air New Zealand turns 75 in Los Angeles
ANZ is offering up 75 free flights in a one-day-only promotion in Los Angeles to celebrate 75 years of existence. The brand will be set up at the Grove, the large outdoor mega-mall next to LA's Farmer's Market. Flights will be available to London, New Zealand and Australia. The carrier will be handing out faux boarding passes throughout the day from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, and passengers will step up to the pop-up ticket counter to see if they've got a lucky ticket. Unfortunately, the cabin class is economy and travel dates are fixed — so if you're allergic to being in the back of the plane or don't have a flexible lifestyle, this one might not be for you.
Cathay Pacific pairs with LoungeBuddy
Lounge booking app Loungebuddy has convinced Cathay Pacific to offer a killer prize: a round-trip to Hong Kong in Premium Economy. Entry is only offered to those who transit via the Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge at SFO until August 27. You'll need to download the Loungebuddy app (totally worth it if you haven't already), and then engage with the in-lounge Cathay-branded content.

Two nights at a Benchmark Resort
Benchmark might not have full brand recognition, but the group offers some classy spots for a quick getaway. This competition is a bit more involved — especially considering its only offering a series of 2 night stays in return for the effort, which involves creating a video and sharing on social. Frankly, this sort of competitions are a bit dated, as most folks don't want to bomb their feed with self-made marketing material. Even so, it could be one step towards a getaway.
