Why be bored at the airport when you can use this app to go on a date?

Sure, airports are no longer places of incredible boredom. In fact, most modern airports have the amusements of any medium-sized city: shops, restaurants and even live music. Now there's a new app to make sure that you don't have to wander those halls alone — no, not Tinder (thought that can be really useful, too) — it's called AirDates, and it's dating for the age of air travel.

The app is custom built for the life of the air traveler, and includes the ability to continue chatting while in the air. So the idea is that you might find someone that you like while at the airport and can still continue your conversation even if you have to board the plane. Simply switch to Wi-Fi mode and chat on.

Bluetooth is also available, offering a nice creep factor so you can chat with nearby connected devices. If you're not scared of seeming completely desperate, you can even share your Wi-Fi via Wi-Fi Direct to chat with other Air-Daters.

All that said, it's hard to take this app too seriously when the website shares such nuggets as:

We all know that ruining yourself during a flight is THE WORST, so just take our advice and don't do it. Unless you have an Airdate, then go right ahead. You're worth it!
