All-you-can-fly private flights coming to the Northeast

Want the convenience of a private plane without throwing down a hefty down payment? Enter Beacon to the scene. The all-you-can-fly, subscription-based membership announced it will officially launch flights on Sept. 15 in the northeast. Following completion of $7.5 million in Series A funding and other financing led by Romulus Capital, the venture will make the luxury of flying private a reality for many.

Beacon CEO and co-founder Wade Eyerly said in a press release:

"Traveling doesn’t need to be a cattle call kind of experience. Frequent travelers in the northeast corridor are eager for options that go beyond the airline shuttles and the Acela. We are committed to helping travelers save time during their commutes."

Pricing begins at $2,000 per month for unlimited access to scheduled flights between New York and Boston aboard mid-size executive aircraft. Members make reservations using the company's app, and there are no change or cancellation fees. Reservations can be made as late as 20 minutes before a flight, and all flights depart from hassle-free private airport terminals.

Seasonal flights to Nantucket and the Hamptons are also planned. Members must pay an initiation fee of $1,000 to join, but that charge is being waived for those that join before August 1. Many will be able to use the flights as a more comfortable way of commuting for work or simply to take a last-minute jaunt.

If all that doesn't sound good to you, Beacon has quite a few competitors around the country that will allow you to hail a private jet at the touch of a button.
