Hotels.com rewarded ad viewers who actually read the fine print with free vacations
Next time you reach for the remote and decide to fast forwarded past the commercials on the show you recorded on your DVR, think again. You might be missing out on winning an awesome prize.
To try and get viewers to actually read fine-print legal jargon, Hotels.com released an advertisement with instructions to enter a sweepstakes written in tiny font. The prize: round trip airfare for two plus two nights' hotel accommodation.
To win, all you had to do was not overlook the parts of an ad that sane humans don't ever read, then write a tweet with #IReadtheLegalSweeps. The hotel booking site has been known to pull some kind of comical advertisement stunts to captivate those of us mindlessly scrolling the interwebs, like a Facebook advertisement that's better with the sound off.
