More than 50,000 companies have enrolled in Uber for Business

Uber for Business turned one year old recently, and the company commemorated the milestone as any tech company worth its weight in data would: by crunching the numbers and presenting them in infographic form.

More than 50,000 companies are enrolled in the program now, which Uber claims can save companies up to $1,000 per employee, annually. That's based on uberX rides costing 40% less than taxis, according to Uber's numbers.

Outside studies have confirmed that more companies than ever are buying into the sharing economy, which seems to us like an obvious and natural evolution. Just the fact that it's so easy to track it all — and there's no need to ask for and collect receipts! – makes us think every corporate travel manager in the world would be clamoring to sign on.

See Uber's infographic below for more interesting tidbits about Uber for Business's operation and to get an idea of just how global it is. (Uber for Business rides occurred in a total of nearly 300 cities in 58 countries.) You can see the company's original post here.

According to a spokesperson for Uber for Business, the company hopes to double the number of companies in the next year and also expand into the U.K. and India.
