Air Canada offers long-haul U.S. travelers free 7-day stopover in Toronto

Combining business and leisure travel is becoming increasingly popular as millennial travelers look to extend business trips to explore new destinations. Now, Air Canada is making that option easier thanks to a new free stopover option in its Toronto hub. For the same price as a flexible roundtrip ticket, fliers going from the U.S. to either Europe or Asia can travel to their destinations by connecting in Toronto and adding a stopover of up to seven days in Toronto in either direction.

To book this option, fliers can use the multi-city booking option on the Air Canada website. Valid flights for this promotion include Air Canada, Air Canada Express, and Air Canada rouge. The catch is that customers must book either business class, premium economy, or flexible economy fares to enjoy this city break.

This type of stopover option is similar to what has made Icelandair so popular with fliers. Andrew Weir, Chief Marketing Officer of Tourism Toronto told RWV:

"International travelers are always looking for added value and exciting destinations and this offer provides both. It's the perfect way to spend some time exploring Toronto – for the first time or the tenth time – without any additional airfare."
