8 lucrative hotel promotions you don't want to miss in November
Miles and points collectors know a good deal when they see one, but sometimes promotions fly under the radar. So each month we’ll bring you the best deals for frequent fliers and the best promotions for frequent hotel guests to help you fatten up your points piggy bank. Here are eight of the best deals major hotel rewards programs are offering right now:
1. Triple Avios points with Hilton overseas and quadruple points with Hilton in London. If you're staying at a Hilton family property between now and Dec. 13, you can score some bonus Avios points (and then spend them) before British Airways changes its Avios program. The Revive promotion will award Hilton guests staying in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East with triple Avios, and those staying at participating London hotels will get quadruple. Avios points are awarded based upon how much you spend on the qualifying room rate. Keep in mind that you must have British Airways selected as your airline earning partner in your Hilton HHonors profile. Considering one-way awards start at 4,500 Avios, this is a pretty sweet deal.
2. IHG PointsBreaks provides rooms for 5,000 points per night. Every quarter IHG puts dozens of hotels on sale at just 5,000 points per night . These can represent huge bargains for those looking at certain destinations, especially during off-peak travel.
3. Choice Hotels offering triple United miles. Normally, United frequent fliers can earn 250 miles per stay at Choice Hotels, but for the rest of 2015, United mileage earners can rake in as many as 750 miles per visit. Given the value-focused price point of many Choice Hotels, this could prove to be a strong way to earn United miles in the coming months.
4. Virgin America points for staying or renting your home with Airbnb. The homesharing site is tapping into the loyalty program craze by offering guests one Virgin America Elevate point for every dollar spent on stays. Guests must book through the Virgin America link. First-time users get an extra sweet deal: 1,500 points after their first stay and a $20 Airbnb credit for signing up, and a whopping 20,000 points for first-time hosts. The offer is valid between now and Nov. 1, 2017.
5. Amazon gift cards through Rocketmiles. If airline miles are not your thing, Rocketmiles (an independent hotel-booking site that awards miles for participating hotels in its portfolio) has a new option for those that use its booking engine to make a hotel stay: Amazon.com gift cards. The gift cards are valued at up to $100 per hotel night booked via the site, and the gift card value is based upon the room rate (clearly shown on the Rocketmiles site before reserving). Of course, the option for miles is still available.
6. Double elite qualifying nights with Club Carlson. The hotel chain is offering double elite qualifying nights (which help you achieve elite status with the hotel program) at any of its hotels worldwide between now and the end of the year. If you're within reach of elite status, this deal can put you over the top. Be sure to register before you check in to be eligible.
7. Bonus nights or points with Starwood. Hotel companies are not only interested in taking care of existing customers, but luring in new ones, too. And Starwood has a few targeted promotions for both new and existing guests. Select Member Exclusive promotions vary based upon your stay history with the company, and there are several different offers floating around. Members are receiving offers like one free night after two paid stays at any hotel or bonus points after various numbers of nights at a Starwood property. 8. IHG awarding points for upcoming stays or even non-stays. And don't forget about the ability to earn points through IHG without even having to stay in a hotel. The Priceless Surprises promotion is awarding bonus points for reaching various thresholds with upcoming stays paid with any MasterCard, but it also has a unique promo allowing guests to easily win a huge amount of points for mailing in their personal details.
