6 credit card bonus offers to watch before Thanksgiving

Credit card companies know that earning your business is easier when there are a few promotions to lure you in and keep you interested. Here are some of the latest and greatest (but, as always, these offers won't stick around forever).

1. Hilton HHonors targeted bonuses for Amex and Citi cardholders: If you have an American Express or Citi card, it may be worth taking a look at your account. Some cardholders are receiving targeted offers to transfer Membership Rewards or Citi ThankYou points to Hilton HHonors and receive a substantial bonus on their points transfer. Not everyone will get the offer, but it might be worth it if you have plans to redeem for a Hilton family hotel in the coming months.

2. $15 rebate for using Visa Checkout with Chase Freedom card: When Chase Freedom cardholders use Visa Checkout as a payment method for any purchase over $15, Chase will automatically refund $15 to the account. Visa Checkout is a simplified way to purchase products online because it remembers your payment information to save you time when making a purchase. The promotion lasts between now and the end of the year (and – just so you know – the refund can take up to two months to appear in your account).

3. Discover cash back for gas purchases: If you hold a Discover card, keep an eye out for an upcoming offer for 5% back on gas purchases in the first quarter of 2016. If you had previously registered for the double cash back offer given to members earlier in the year (an offer which is no longer available) this could mean as much as 10% cash back. Those who are strongly committed to earning the maximum amount of cash back might want to consider buying gas station gift cards to use later.

4. American Express Offers pile on the value: As part of its annual Amex Offers campaign, American Express is offering travel products and services at a negotiated discount. These include benefits like $50 off when spending at least $250 at Starwood Hotels between now and the end of the year or discounts on Hyatt gift cards (You must purchase with your AmEx to receive either perk). These offers often vary between cardholders, but there are plenty of similar value-focused options floating around. Just act fast, because they are limited in number.

5. Chase offering new Uber riders a free ride: If you're one of the 15 people who have yet to use Uber, Chase cardholders are being targeted with an offer to try a free ride, valued up to $30. It is not an automatic benefit as cardholders are receiving emails with an offer code, but this is your friendly reminder to check your spam account! Users must link their Chase credit card with their Uber account to enjoy the free ride.

6. Free Gogo wi-fi for US Bank Flex Visa cardholders: All it takes is registering for this new card benefit within one's US Bank Visa account, and cardholders can count on a dozen inflight wi-fi passes to use in the coming year. The card only has a $49 fee in its first year, so this is a tremendous new bonus for the connected flier.
