This is when you should book your flight for every destination
The new year is right around the corner, and if you have any travel plans ahead for 2016, you may want to consider exactly when to book your flights.
The day of the week you purchase a ticket can make a big difference in domestic prices (studies differ regarding the best day to buy a ticket, but most agree that Friday is a bad day) but when it comes to international travel, it's all about the advanced planning. The exact best time also varies, but tends to be somewhere in the range of seven to eight weeks.
But Expedia and Airlines Reporting Corporation's 2016 Global Air Travel Outlook give a more in-depth breakdown of the best time to purchase airline tickets, and it varies wildly depending on destination.
As you can see, you can afford to dilly dally when cementing plans to the Caribbean. A 5% more expensive ticket is hardly going to break the bank for most people. But if you've got your heart set on visiting Africa or the Middle East, booking your flight 144 days out could save you a whopping 24%, according to the report.
