Have you ever been standing in an airport security line, taking your belt and your shoes off, emptying your pockets into a plastic bin and thinking "Wouldn't it be easier if I just went through the scanner myself?" Well, that's exactly what one rather confused traveler was caught on CCTV doing.

BT.com reports that the footage was filmed at a train station in Chengdu, China, but the unintentional comedy is universal. As a staff member gestures toward the X-ray machine, the man misunderstands and climbs on the conveyor belt himself. "At least he was open to trying new things," one beyond optimistic Facebook commenter wrote. And, hey, at least he didn't have to take his shoes or his belt off either.
