Yet another winter storm will bring snow and ice to much of the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Snow is likely all the way from Chicago to Boston, with freezing rain expected in Washington, D.C.

Bitterly cold air will once again plague the northern Plains and upper Midwest, as highs remain in the single digits.

Showers are also expected in the Southeast, while mountain snow falls across the Rockies.

Weather history for Feb. 5: In 1961, a blizzard lashed the Northeast, bringing almost two feet of snow to parts of New York City. In 2007, a record high temperature of 89 degrees was measured in Los Angeles.
