Winter will continue its onslaught on the north-central U.S. on Tuesday, while very warm, springlike weather takes hold in the East and South.

Northern tier: Light to moderate snow will fall in the northern Rockies, northern Plains and upper Midwest on Tuesday. Temperatures will hold in the 20s, 30s and 40s.

East Coast, Southeast: Warm temperatures in the 60s and 70s, along with abundant sunshine, will make for a lovely spring preview from the Mid-Atlantic to Florida. The Northeast and New England will remain chilly, however.

Gulf Coast: Tuesday will be damp and cloudy for coastal Texas along with most of Louisiana and Mississippi.

West: Other than the northern Rockies, the entire western region will be dry and clear.
