Thursday's forecast: Still stormy in the Northwest

A variety of weather will be on the menu Thursday, with drenching thunderstorms, light snow and blistering heat all forecast across parts of the country.
Central U.S.: Rain and thunderstorms will soak central portions of the nation, all the way from the Upper Midwest to the lower Mississippi Valley. Some light snow will also bring a wintry feel to northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota.
Northwest: Yet another wet, dreary day is expected in the Northwest, with coastal and valley rain and mountain snow in the forecast.
East Coast: Most of the East will be dry, though a few showers will dampen the Southeast coast and eastern New England.
Southwest: The heat will be on high from southern California to Texas as some spots soar into the 90s.
Weather history for April 24: In 1993, a large tornado hit Tulsa, killing 10 people. In 1997, thousands were left powerless in Colorado Springs due to heavy, wet snow and high winds.
In 2001, Hartford saw a record high of 88 degrees. In 2010, several tornadoes lashed the South, killing 10 people.
